New Tierney Fellowship recipient

The 2011/2012 Tierney Fellowship has been awarded to Mack Magagane, born in 1990 in Soweto. After his matriculation in 2008, he joined the Market Photo Workshop and completed his Advanced Programme course in photography in July 2010. He has been part of the Market Photo Workshop's Borders Masterclass 2010, where he had exhibited an on-going body of work entitled 'Light Hours', which explores notions of absence, loss and the unknown, concentrating also on the irony of the 'built landscape'. The fellowship is a partnership between the Tierney Family Foundation and the Market Photo Workshop and provides a year-long programme to develop the career and skills of the recipient.
