Laureus YES programme continues to enrich lives
Global sports-based charity, Laureus, launched its sixth annual Youth Empowerment through Sport programme, between 26 February and 4 March 2017, by means of an education training camp that took place at The Team House in Noordhoek, Cape Town.
The seven-day interactive training workshop was a place where young leaders, from across the country, were provided with skills and tools necessary to create positive change in local communities.
Seventeen young leaders from the various Laureus-funded and affiliated programmes participated in motivational sessions that were led by key speakers like Laureus SA chairman, Morné du Plessis, Laureus ambassador and one of SA's leading female mountaineers, Deshun Deysel, as well as members of the Laureus SA Foundation Board of Trustees and YES programme funders, Mercedes-Benz.
Themes explored in these sessions included sport for development, the importance of personal development, the art of goal setting and conflict resolution.
