IFRA Expo 2009 will chart course for media industry
The theme for the 2009 IFRA Expo will be Your essential GPS - The News Publishing Event to help navigate your Course, organisers announced yesterday, Thursday, 23 July 2009. What is described as the largest trade exhibition for the news publishing and media industries will be held 12-15 October at the Reed Messe Wien exhibition grounds in Austria.
According to Michael Heipel, responsible for the 2009 exhibition, the show will offer trendsetting technologies, new business models and innovations to lead newspaper publishing houses and media operations into a successful future in difficult times. It will also offer an extensive programme of conferences and events to give participants up to date information on latest industry developments.
“In this very difficult year for the industry, the expo aims both to showcase the current state of the industry as well as to provide direction for the future,” he continues. “Ninety percent of the show's visitors will be decision-makers at publishing houses and the show will offer something of interest for everyone who publishes in print, online or mobile. This includes magazine publishers as well as decision-makers in the area of corporate publishing. For the first time, WAN-IFRA has agreed to co-operate with the Forum Corporate Publishing and offer special accompanying events for decision-makers in the corporate communications area.”
Some 300 exhibitors from 25 countries as well as about 9000 visitors from more than 80 countries are expected to attend. They will find in Hall A, systems and services for business/strategy, content production for newsrooms as well as advertising, digital media and systems. The products and solutions on show in Hall B cover the areas of prepress, print, mailroom and distribution, consumables (see www.ifraexpo.com for an updated list of exhibitors).
