Community paper for Dobsonville launched

The Newspaper Advertising Bureau (NAB) is adding another community newspaper to its West Rand stable with Caxton's launch of the Dobsonviller early in June, extending its reach into a crucial geographical area for its advertisers.

"NAB prides itself on presenting advertisers with new and affordable opportunities," says Gill Randall, NAB's Joint Managing Director. "The Dobsonviller is another way we are extending our reach into areas which have not been as easily accessible in the past, both for the community and for our clients."

With a print order of 30 000, the free publication will be distributed fortnightly to homes, businesses, clinics and surgeries in Dobsonville. "This paper will reflect and represent the people of a community rich in culture, language, landmarks, business development and an incredible infrastructure," says the paper's editor, Mothibi Gobuapelo.

Dr Aggrey Klaaste, former Sowetan editor, will be contributing articles of interest to the Dobsonviller. "He will help fine-tune the paper into a true reflection of us as a community," says Gobuapelo.

Klaaste adds: "The fact that the newspaper is written and produced by the young people of Dobsonville is encouraging. These young writers who will run the business are streetwise, as well as profoundly committed South Africans."
