Beauty Africa hosts Discom Hair Extravaganza

For many years the Afro Hair market has been a sleeping giant in South Africa. The annual Beauty Africa Exhibition which takes place from 17-19 July 2004 at the Sandton Convention Centre, will host the first ever, Discom Hair Africa Extravaganza.

This high profile event will create a window on the world of Ethnic Hair in South Africa and will create an opportunity for retailers, traders and consumers to interact with suppliers, stylists and exhibitors.

"Discom is the leading formal retailer in Afro Haircare and a one stop shop for afro haircare needs. We have gained valuable experience over the years, which has resulted in us knowing the needs of our consumers. We have African Beauty consultants in the majority of our stores to give our customers advice and great service - hair salons in four of our stores support this. Discom is a destination for a select world-class range of local and international products, at affordable prices and offers our customers an exciting, first world retail environment," says Grant Heynes, Merchandise Leader, Discom.

Heynes adds: "It has also become vital for us to create a platform for consumers to see, touch and experience the many local and international products, techniques, styles and technology that the industry has to offer. This will be achieved at the Discom Hair Extravaganza at Beauty Africa."

The Lifestyle component of the industry will also be presented by showcasing the latest fashion and entertainment trends, personalities and superstars. SoftSheen.Carson and Sunsilk, amongst other renowned brands will set the stages alight at this action packed event.

Beauty Africa unites the cosmetic, hair, health, nail, and beauty sectors of South Africa and is firmly set to captivate the imagination of the industry and the public alike. Visitors can expect to explore over 140 exhibits and interactive demonstrations from countries on all five continents, including skin and body care products, natural health products, cosmetics, toiletries, perfumes & fragrances, hair care products and accessories, hand and nail products, vitamin and mineral supplements, jewellery and accessories.

Each year Beauty Africa brings thousands of local and international distributors and buyers, retailers, wholesalers, hotel buyers, importers, exporters and the public through its doors.

Beauty Africa is open from 10h00 - 18h00 daily from 17 - 19 July at the Sandton Convention Centre. Entrance is free to trade visitors and R30 for public.
