The investment reflects continued faith by Sun International in Morula, one of the oldest in the group. The casino and hotel has been modernized to international standards and boasts an extensive improvement to all facilities on offer. The casino and hotel will be officially re-launched 15th December 2004.
The refurbishment, which began in March this year, has seen close to 50 suppliers and contractors commissioned to work on the project designed to differentiate Morula from other entertainment complexes through reflecting an African Fusion décor theme, while introducing new features and innovations to generate a higher level of customer service, ease of convenience and greater enjoyment for all visitors.
In addition, the refurbishment project has seen Morula recognize its social responsibility by employing previously disadvantaged groups - specifically skilled women in neighbouring areas - to work on craft projects in keeping with the African Fusion décor theme such as the intricate beadwork on the interior columns which flank the entrance foyer.
Steve Hight, General Manager of Morula Casino and Hotel, says the extensive refurbishment recognizes the importance of both the guests and the complex to Sun International. "The newly-created ambiance is further enhanced by a series of paintings, commissioned from local artists, who have captured the area's unique warmth and earthiness."
