Endorsed by the South African Chefs' Association (SACA), the local competition entrants pay R150 per entry and submit their commercially viable recipes within the following four categories: chicken or meat; seafood; vegetarian; speciality or dessert.
Under the auspices of SACA, all recipes will be assessed by a panel of internationally recognised chefs and judged on their originality, balance, creativity, as well as excitement factor. The organisers will select approximately 20 finalists and invite them to recreate their recipes at Hostex 2010 in Cape Town at the CTICC from 8 - 10 March. Finalists will be required to compete in cook-off heats, in order to battle it out for the South African Global Pizza Challenge title.
