Wesgro commits as main sponsor of 2019 African Responsible Tourism Awards
Wesgro has, for the fifth consecutive year, signed on as the main sponsor of the 2019 African Responsible Tourism Awards. Commenting on the category for Best Cultural or Heritage Experience, Wesgro CEO, Tim Harris said: "Recently much hard work has gone into growing tourism that highlights aspects of the Western Cape's culture and heritage. The province is adding layers to its already multi-dimensional tourism offering. We are keen to see what we can learn from the awards' winners and provide exciting and responsible experiences to wider range of visitors."

Wesgro will be joined on stage by RSG radio producer and presenter, Martelize Brink, who will MC the ceremony.
This year, the award's longlist includes 36 tourism organisations from eight countries; large exhibition for the meetings industry, an operator specialising in Kilimanjaro treks and a museum focussing on gangsterism are among those longlisted.
The 2019 African Responsible Tourism Awards winners will be announced at a ceremony to be held on Wednesday, 10 April 2019 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. The ceremony is part of the responsible tourism programme at WTM Africa.
