Sweet sixteen for kids' gaming show

Reggie's Rush, South African television's longest running children's gaming show, turns 16 this year. Launched in 1992 by popular baby, toy and gaming store Reggie's, the show runs for 12 weeks in the last quarter of every year.

“We are very excited that 16 years on we are still going strong. The show has gone from strength to strength every year and we will continue to improve it and adapt to ever changing trends in children's toys to make the show bigger and better,” says Redgwoods director Issy Zimmerman.

Four contestants drawn from entries across the country compete in each episode of Reggie's Rush by choosing a lucky envelope. Two of the contestants are then selected to play it out in a game which varies each year. The ultimate prize in each programme is a 30-seconds toy dash in a Reggie's store.

The show, which will run from Thursday 2 October 2008 to Thursday 18 December every Thursday afternoon on KTV, will give away 24 Reggie's gift cards and 24 Nintendo Wii sports packs. In addition, the winning child in each of the 12 episodes will get a chance to grab as many free toys as they possibly can in the Reggie's Rush.

The show is open to children up to the age of 13 years old. Children can get entry forms at Reggie's stores countrywide but only after buying something. Entries close on 31 August 2008. For your nearest Reggie's store, call +27 (0)11 606 3700.
