SABC Africa, Multichoice part ways

As of 1 August 2008, SABC Africa will no longer be available on the DStv bouquet. The SABC released a statement yesterday, Monday, 14 July 2008, stating that negotiations between Multichoice and the public broadcaster had not yielded results, hence the discontinuation of the channel on DStv.

According to Business Report, this means the loss of yet another revenue stream for the SABC.

Staff members working for the channel will continue with SABC Africa and will also play an instrumental role in the planned new SABC digital channels.
