Diggy Bongz to drive Heart FM
Heart 104.9FM has announced that Diggy Bongz will be taking over the reins of the 3pm - 6pm Afternoon Drive Show, starting 1 February 2010, supported by traffic anchor Marguerita Freeks and Paul Snodgrass on sports news.
Diggy Bongz is a veteran club DJ with a longstanding broadcasting career, which started in the ‘90s. He obtained his Social Science degree with a major in Organisational Psychology from the University of Cape Town (UCT) in 1997. Added to this he is a well-recognised voice artist and was a founder member of Cape Town Kwaito Group Dantai, which was nominated for a SAMA Award in 1999.
He is currently working on a solo career and has a record deal with Stereotype Records. His first album combines his jazz and soul influences with his passion for pushing the boundaries. The album will be released later this year and is a complex, sophisticated sound tailored for the dance floor.
From 1 March, Paul Playdon, will be looking after Diggy's former programmes In the Mix, from Monday to Thursday, 7pm to 10pm and the Heart Top 30 on Saturdays, 2pm to 5pm.
