Special award for Motsweding FM radio drama
Late last week, Motsweding FM's Drama Department was awarded a special mayoral award of R10 000 for Diphetogo, one of its commissioned radio dramas voted as successful by listeners comments during its season on air.
Diphetogo was written by David Kabi and has been commissioned twice by the station due to popular demand. The station stated that accolades should also be given to Tlhapi Maithufi and Lefoki Modise, the team behind all the creative work and affirmed its intention to continue to develop creative concepts and nurture the creative work submitted by its storywriters.
This was at the first annual event organised by Bojanala District municipality to acknowledge different artists within the region and was attended by the mayor, the provincial director for Arts & Culture, various councillors from the region, Kgosi Matlapeng, chairperson of the local Traditional Leaders House, a representative from Royal Bafokeng and students from Wits University.
