Community Radio Festival 2003

The World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (AMARC) Africa will host its inaugural three-day annual Community Radio Festival from December 12 - 14, 2003 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The Community Radio Festival is an opportunity for CR stakeholders including, CR stations, community media practitioners, partners, consultants, service providers and funders to gather for, consultation, discussions, networking and where appropriate training.

The festival coincides with AMARC Africa's call for tenders to provide broadcasting equipment to community radio stations under the Catalysing Access to ICTs in Africa (CATIA) pilot project. It will therefore provide equipment suppliers an opportunity to demonstrate their equipment to partners, stations and funders. There will be an exhibition hall for this purpose.

The Community Radio Festival will bring CR representatives from East, Southern, West and Central Africa.
