Buli G to drive 94.7 Highveld

94.7 Highveld Stereo announced earlier this week that radio personality Buli G will be joining the station to present the afternoon drive between 12 noon and 3pm from 1 July 2007. Buli G replaces Sorisha Naidoo, who is now pursuing a career in television.

Buli (31) has presented the lunchtime show at Algoa FM in Port Elizabeth for the past five years, since catching the station's attention when she made the final 50 in M-Net Idols talent search.

“We are very excited to have Buli join our team,” said 94.7 Highveld Stereo station manager, Ravi Naidoo. “With her friendly personality, love for music and several years experience in the radio industry we're certain that she will be perfectly positioned to take up the challenge of presenting the 12 noon to 3pm slot.”

Although Buli G loves the friendly city of Port Elizabeth, she is thrilled to be moving to Joburg to be a part of the 94.7 team. “It's a little surreal because I would never have imagined I'd end up being part of the same line-up as Jeremy Mansfield, Kenny Maistry and Alex Jay. It's my biggest break ever in the seven years since I started out in radio,” she enthused.

“Joburg's the centre of the action in the industry and so is 94.7 Highveld Stereo, so I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. It's the right move, at the right time and I'm so glad the opportunity came along when it did. I'm ready.”
