Bad Boy T for Metro breakfast show

Thomas “Bad Boy T” Msengana will be taking over the breakfast show from 1 April 2007, to be joined by the irreverent Lupe (producer), as well as Florence (news), BBK (sport) and the Naked DJ (mix DJ), announced Metro FM on Tuesday, 20 March 2007. Other changes to the lineup include current morning presenter Azania moving to host mid mornings Monday - Friday and Penny Lebyane taking over the lunchtime spot weekdays.

Says Matona Ntshona, Metro FM station manager, “I think that we have managed to create a listening experience that is global in its outlook but defiantly African and relies on the characters, opinions, knowledge and beliefs of on-air and behind-the-scenes talent who have the exact same vision.”

As was announced previously, Unathi Nkayi, KG Moeketsi and Adil More will join the radio station from 1 April as well.

Nkayi will join Glen Lewis on the afternoon drive show during the week, creating what the station believes will be one of the most formidable on-air partnerships on South African radio.

On Saturdays, More will present the Metro FM Top 40 chart show, which will be combining both local and international hits for the first time in the station’s history.

KG Moeketsi will take over the Sunday evening programme, bringing her knowledge and passion for the genre to this slot.

Completing the weekday lineup, Sakina Kamwendo will host the station’s flagship talk show Metro FM Talk on Monday and Tuesday, while Criselda Kananda will host the same show on Wednesday and Thursday.

Kicking off the weekends is the addition of DJ Nutty who has been working behind-the-scenes at Metro for several years, to the programme lineup late on on Friday evenings.

Segale Mogotsi takes over Saturday afternoons with a lifestyle show that covers all the stylish news from designer living to Hollywood gossip and some fine old school tunes.
