    HorrorFest strikes 12 this Halloween

    The South African HorrorFest film festival and Halloween event turns 12 this year, running from 26 October to 4 November at the Labia Theatre in Cape Town.

    Running over 10 days, the festival will feature movies, short films, a live movie soundtrack performance, as well as a Halloween dress-up event and a mini-market.

    HorrorFest strikes 12 this Halloween

    The majority of the movies in this 12th edition of the HorrorFest will be making their African premieres including Ouija: Origin of Evil on 27 October. The Makabra Ensemble's live movie soundtrack performance this year, on 29 October, will be for the 1932 French-German classic Vampyr, and will be linked with the audience Halloween dress-up competition and mini-market outside the cinema.

    The festival opens on Wednesday, 26 October, from 6pm-8pm with the free Bloody Parchment literary evening, including local authors reading from their works.
