The Galileo announces line-up

The Galileo Open Air Cinema returns this summer with 22 venues, 125 movies as well as new food vendors. The first movie of the season will screen on 31 October.

While it will be held at its traditional venues, including Hillcrest Quarry, Kirstenbosch Gardens and The V&A Waterfront, screenings will also feature at various rotating Friday night venues in town. Bi-monthly screenings will take place at wine estates in Paarl, Stellenbosch and Somerset West.

New attractions this season include Friday night live music by local artists before the main show begins. In addition to the family-friendly movies already in the programme there are now seven Sunday shows making their debut during the school holidays. Taking place at Kelvin Grove country club, there’s plenty to keep the kids entertained, while parents can try a variety of dishes in the mini food market before settling down for the movie.

Doors to The Galileo open at 6pm and the movie starts at sunset. Arrive early to reserve your spot on the lawn. You may hire a backrest and a blanket, as well as purchase food, alcohol, soft drinks and sugary treats on sale at each handpicked venue.
The Galileo is presented by Savanna.
