World mourns Whitney

The Mail & Guardian says Whitney Houston, who was found dead in her bath at a Beverly Hills hotel room on Saturday, had had a brilliant career that saw her rise from a singer in a gospel church choir to become one of the best-selling female entertainers of all time.

Meanwhile IOL's Tonight says that fans and admirers gathered outside the New Jersey church where her singing career started to celebrate her life and mourn her passing. Cards and flowers were tied to the railings of the New Hope Baptist Church. Among those paying respects to Houston was the Reverend Jesse Jackson.
