Concert in the Gardens
The concert opened with Rossini's Seriramis, followed by Vivaldi's Gloria in 12 movements and, finally, a number of unforgettable masterpieces from Beethoven, showcasing a classical side to South Africa's diverse musical talent. As the sun slowly dipped behind the mountain, it was hard not to be captivated by the tranquility and harmony of this view complemented by sound.
This classical symphony of nature at its best, combined with the talented members of the Philharmonic Orchestra, provided an unforgettable event that I was fortunate enough to experience. Picnic baskets, blankets, and kids with painted faces added to the comfortable atmosphere. The evening proved to be a memorable one, showing once again that Kirstenbosch Summer Concerts are one of the best ways to spend a Sunday evening in Cape Town.
