Cape Town DJ to help skill young women

Vanessa Holliday of Digital Divas will perform at India's first international Big Bang DJ Festival on 4 December, 2010, at the Palace Ground, Bangalore. She will also be imparting the skills she has learned to local women via a Scholarship and Tarining Programme.
Cape Town DJ to help skill young women

The event is the biggest dance event to hit Bangalore and Holliday will be playing alongside DJs DONS (Germany), Timo Garcia (London) and India's own DJ Swing. Apart from showcasing her own skills abroad, she has felt a need to share whatever new trends she's exposed to in India. Holliday has established a relationship with Bush Radio Station and will be linking with the station's Scholarships and Training Programme. This entails mentoring two young women who have dreams of being professional DJs.

Holliday is no stranger to the South African music scene. She has been influencing the world of audio from behind the decks for almost eight years now. Initially rising to popularity playing an uplifting progressive house-based sound and citing Tiesto and Paul van Dyk as her early influences, Holliday quickly became in demand across South Africa.

Focus to break boundaries

The Big Bang DJ Festival is the first dance event of its kind to take place in Bangalore. The event will have the best in sound, lighting, gaming zones with live AV graphics and radio streaming all set in a carnival setting. The focus will be to break boundaries on the international festival landscape and consistently present the most ground-breaking line-ups and technologically advanced production possible.

Holliday has felt a social responsibility to commit to helping young women reach the same levels of success that she has worked for. She believes becoming a well-known name in any industry takes hard work, commitment, skill, integrity and business savvy. These are the qualities she'd like to impart to young people who are now at the point where she started out. The programme is meant to give the young women hands-on experience.
