SA's Purkiss supports Finley Quaye
Local acoustic musician, Farryl Purkiss, will be supporting multi-platinum award-winning British artist, Finley Quaye, on his forthcoming South African tour on 12 and 13 March, 2010.
When Finley Quaye burst onto the British Music scene in 1997 his debut album, “Maverick A Strike”, quickly established him as one of the few truly innovative artists around. He won the Mobo Award for Best Reggae act in 1997 and the BRIT Award for Best British Male Solo Artist in 1998. In 1997 he reached the UK Top 20 twice with Sunday Shining, and Even After All. “Maverick A Strike” went gold less than three weeks after its release and is now multi platinum.
Quaye is currently working on a new album with A Guy Called Gerald & The Stereo Mcs.
Purkiss has recently released his second album entitled “Fruitbats & Crows” and has spent the past four months touring South Africa in support of the new record.
