Jason Hartman at The Lyric Theatre
The Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City Casino will be hosting Idols South Africa five joint winner, Jason Hartman, and his band for a performance on 13 February 2010. Hartman, singer-songwriter and joint winner of Idols 2009, started his musical career in 1996 playing in a young three-piece rock band called Triad before moving onto Samson Show Band, made up of him, his brother and father.
Hartman toured southern Africa with the Samson Show Band and later formed Men of Trees in 2004 along with his brother (Scott Hartman) and his father (Sam Hartman).
Jason's 2009 single Break the Silence was met with favourable reviews. The single entered the Nokia Top 40 SA, reaching number 1 by 13 June.
Jason's first studio album 'On the Run' has been released by Sony Music with hits like Mr Mend and On the Run climbing up many South African music charts.
