Dan Patlansky at On Broadway
There are some things one just has to do before you die, one of which is to experience a Dan Patlansky show. A Dan Patlansky gig is a hurricane of sorts, bound to leave you stunned and with a new appreciation of what's possible on a guitar. The show is however not just a show of dexterity and speed, but a real ode to the values and character of roots music, Dan's passion being to bring that side of roots music to a new generation.
His blues, fiery bluegrass and power slide guitar tunes recall anything from Stevie Ray Vaughn to Hendrix, but of course always with the South African twist, he is one of us. In New Orleans and London Dan has been called one of the best young blues artistes around and the best ever to come out of the southern hemisphere. But make up your own mind about our homeboy whilst he's on home turf this winter.
