What does music mean to you?

Music to me is truth, and I am a medium for that truth, not the other way around.

What is the most enjoyable aspect of your work?

I am very passionate about music so every aspect excites me, and I pour myself into the entire process.

What drives you: ego or humility?

Both ego and humility play a big role in keeping an artist at their best, so I’d say both.

Any funny moments on stage?

Haha, when I forget my lyrics and I act as if the mic cuts out.

It’s your round, what are you drinking?

Castle Light for the win.

What makes you stand out?

Understanding myself as an artist and portraying that to the T.

Nicknames?

Tokes, Tee, Pie, and Boeta T.

If you were not a musician what would you do?

I’ve always wanted to be on stage and entertain, I can't remember a time I once thought of a backup plan. Even right now nothing comes to mind.

Pick five words to describe yourself?

Faithful, tenacious, honest, innovative, curious.

Favourite fashion garment?

My old faithful Converse Jack Purcells.

Give us some real proper slang and what it means?

Isja meaning “there you go” or “that's right.”

Your greatest achievement?

Musically it would be Blackkurrant’s Sama nomination for best Neo-soul/R&B album.

What do you complain about most often?

The playlist of most South African radio stations.
