The Showroom prepares seven shows for the festive season

Daniele Pascal’s Nostalgia, a tribute to Marlene Dietrich (Dec 3 at 8pm) is a musical journey into the life of one of the greatest entertainers of the Golden age, a film star, a cabaret sensation — a wonderful enigma. With Liza Joubert (from Lisa se Klavier fame) on piano, the show features songs such as ‘I may never go home anymore’, ‘ just a gigolo’, ‘Illusions’, ‘Ich bin die fesche lola’, ‘Lili Marlene’ and many more. Tickets are R130.

Ray Dylan (Dec 8 at 8pm) is firmly established as one of South Africa’s favourite voices and his newest album, Reg hier in die middel – with heartfelt lyrics, fresh melodies and captivating rhythms – reaffirms why! Ray and his team applied their pens in communicating a wide range of feelings and moments through words and music: from loss, betrayal, a love that is not meant to be and “all the right things said and done too late”, to lighter mood party weekends, meeting the one who sweeps you off your feet at first sight and finding the match who was made especially for you. He will perform music from his albums Hokaai Stoppie Lorrie and Goeie Ou Country. Tickets are R130.

Jesse Clegg (Dec 10 at 8pm) spent the first six years of his life on tour with his father, iconic South African singer Johnny Clegg. Jesse has achieved much in the six short years he has been active. He has released four Top 10 singles and toured extensively throughout South Africa, playing the biggest festivals in the country. Enjoy some lively rock and pop music from his albums Things Unseen, When I Wake Up, Live & Unplugged, and Life on Mars.
