Sponsor for Newsmaker of the Year award

The Presidency has been officially informed of the decision to name President Jacob Zuma as the National Press Club-Glenrand MIB Newsmaker of the Year 2009. “The date for the presentation of the award at the formal banquet will be announced soon,” states National Press Club (NPC) chairperson, Yusuf Abramjee.

“The group's sponsorship of the award is in recognition of the important role that newsmakers have played in capturing our imaginations, provoking thought, public debate and shaping public opinion,” says Andrew Chislett, CEO of Glenrand M-I-B. “It also recognises the important role of our media to capture the public mood and sentiment and show South African's the true value of what is means to live in a democratic society.”
