Paralympic team sponsors announced
The deal will see Puma designing a new kit which will be delivered to the athletes in November 2007 to be used in competition until the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games, when the athletes will be outfitted in a new range of kit designed especially for the Games in Beijing.
Fans of the South African Paralympic Team will get to show their support for the athletes by sporting “Fan Merchandise” as Puma also has the rights to design, manufacture and distribute team-themed shoes, bags and apparel as well as other sports leisure articles.
The South African team excelled at the Athens 2004 Paralympic Games and finished 13th on the medal table with 15 Golds included in a haul of 35 medals. The team includes stars such as swimmer Natalie du Toit, distance racer Ernst van Dyk, runner Malcolm Pringle, sprinter Oscar Pistorius, sprinter Teboho Mokgalagadi and javelin thrower Zanele Situ.
