Two Oceans Marathon get set with Openfield

The first Two Oceans Marathon was held in 1970 with the view to introduce an Ultra Marathon distance in Cape Town. From its humble beginnings with 26 participants, the event has grown to become a global running sensation that today sees runners of all shapes, sizes and fitness levels participate in the Ultra Marathon, Half Marathon, Trail Runs and Fun Runs - all against the backdrop of the picturesque Cape Peninsula.
"We are very excited to work with the Openfield team," adds Carol Vosloo, General Manager of the Two Oceans Marathon NPC. "Their insights and contribution will add great value, not only to ensure our continued development as a prestigious global event, but also to help us further grow the work we do with our incredible sponsors."
With the perpetual growth of interest in recreational and competitive running, the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon is now seen as an annual pilgrimage for both local and international runners with over 30,000 runners participating. The event is a profile builder for Cape Town and a traditional boost to the Easter tourism industry in the Western Cape.
"We are extremely proud to be able to partner with the Two Oceans Marathon in developing a commercial model that will not only position the property as an extremely valuable proposition with the existing partners but also grow this world class event to even greater heights," commented, Robert Cook, Openfield Cape Town.
