Call for independent theatre productions

The SAST (South African State Theatre) is offering South African theatre practitioners the opportunity to stage their work at two of its theatre spaces, the Momentum theatre and the Intimate theatre, for the period of July 2014 to March 2015, under the banner of its independent theatre programme STIPP (the State Theatre Independent Productions Programme).

STIPP offers a platform to independent theatre practitioners where they can stage their productions at the State Theatre with no venue charges and receive technical support including the usage of State Theatre resources like décor, costume, marketing, and a fee of R25,000 for each production. The independent producers will receive 60% of the door takings.

Applications deadline closes on 21 February 2014.
