Springs Mall breaks ground

Construction began at Springs Mall at Blue Crane Eco Park on 17 June 2014, bringing this 52,000sqm regional mall a step closer to becoming a for shoppers in the greater Springs area in the east of Gauteng. It is set to open in 2016.

Turning the ceremonial first sod of soil marking the start of construction on the new R850 million Springs Mall at Blue Crane Eco Park were, from left, Nicky Giuricich, Jack D’Arrigo, Mondli Gungubele, Executive Mayor of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, and Paul Gerard.

Developers and joint venture owners Flanagan & Gerard Developments, Blue Crane Mall and the family of Giuricich Brothers hosted this event. The sod-turning ceremony was attended by the Executive Mayor of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, Mondli Gungubele and Dr Luigi Diodati of the Italian Embassy, amongst other VIPs.
