Le Kap Lifestyle Fair

The fair, now in its third year, affords its guests an unrivalled and unique experience incorporating a variety of luxury lifestyle elements. One of the highlights of the event is a world class 'fashion show', featuring some of South Africa's foremost couturiers, such as Jacques LaGrange Couture and Thula Cindi, who will be showcasing their latest couture creations. The iconic Italian fashion brand, Luisa Spagnoli, with stores in Joburg and Cape Town, will reveal its summer collection. To complete an already impressive line-up, the male fashion brand Carducci will present its latest range in men suits.

To complement the fashion show, there is a gathering of five celebrated South African chefs and event attendees will be treated to a live cooking demonstration. Seeing chefs like Gregory Czarneki, Roland Gorgosolich and John Eassingwood preparing one of their signature dishes from a 'demo kitchen' will be a treat for foodies and event attendees alike.

The event attracts a large number of celebrity and VIP guests in a dedicated VIP & Celebrity lounge that in the past was strictly only upon invitation. However, in 2015, the event owner, Le Kap Magazine, has made a limited number of VIP tickets available to the public. Guests to the VIP lounge are spoilt for choice with fine dining canapés prepared by the celebrity chefs and suitably accompanied with Veuve Clicquot Champagne.

Gourmet dining-on-the-go meals

The celebrity chefs will also be preparing artisanal gourmet dining-on-the-go meals, which will be available to purchase at the event. As in the VIP lounge, Veuve Clicquot Champagne will be served from a Veuve Clicquot-themed cash bar in the main area. As in previous years, some of South Africa's premium wine estates will present wine tastings. Wine will also be available to purchase by the bottle or per case, directly from participating wine estates at cellar door prices. Guests may also enjoy craft beer, as well as a variety of speciality artisanal cocktail bar options.

Another very exciting aspect of the Le Kap Lifestyle Fair is the six-bar horse-jumping competition, where horse and rider compete for a winner-takes-all cash prize.

Music will set the stage for the 2015 Le Kap Lifestyle Fair. For the first time at the fair, a live band will be performing. The all-woman instrumental pop group Sterling EQ, made up of electric flautist Carina Bruwer, electric violinist Luca Hart and electric cellist Ariella Caira, will entertain guests. Sterling EQ won a South African Music Award in 2011, becoming only the second girl band to do so.

A prize will be awarded to the best-dressed couple, as well as to the runner-up. This will be evaluated in accordance with full ensemble and the inclusion of unique and stunning headwear pieces.

As a precursor to the event, there is an exclusively private five-course gourmand dinner for 100 select VIPs on Friday, 4 December, which will be paired with select wines.
