Carnival returns to Maynardville
The Community Chest of the Western Cape has redesigned its carnival after a year-long break.
"We are pleased, once again, to be staging carnival, which is not only one of the Mother City's longest running events, but also a platform for individuals and families to experience world-class entertainment and activities," said Community Chest's CEO, Lorenzo Davids.
Visitors can look forward to some of their favourite foods that are synonymous with the Community Chest Carnival, from koeksisters to croquetten, to authentic pasta from Italy. This year, carnival-goers can also look forward to other innovative food and entertainment options including a skate park, street-food trucks, vintage clothing, pop-up shops and organic fare.
Organic lifestyle options
The Community Chest has integrated organic lifestyle options with a mix of traditional carnival elements in order to provide the greater Cape Town region with a unique culinary and world-class entertainment experience.
"We have been influenced by the people of Cape Town and have taken into account the suggestions over the past year. By combining new local lifestyle options with carnival classics, we have raised the platform and created a fresh dynamic, ensuring we cater for all carnival-goers," said Davids.
