Guests will make their way through seven curry, wine and beer pairings at this year's Curry, Beer & Wine Challenge at the Taj Cape Town's Twankey Bar today, Wednesday, 28 August 2013.

Imagine Chicken Tikka Bunny Chow, paired with a Cape Brewing Company (CBC) Pilsner, or Roti pe Boti and spiced beef cubes served on rice and paired with Devils Peak' India Pale Ale (IPA) and Anthonij Rupert's rounded Optima.

"As part of the fun, interactive experience, guests will have an opportunity to rate and judge each of the pairings - from Warm Potato Cakes with Cumin Yoghurt and Apricot Tamarind chutney, paired with the delicious Devils Peak Saison and PJ Brut NV - to a Sundried Tomato and Olive Paneer paired with Jack Black Pale Ale and Paradysekloof Pinot Noir," says Willem De Klerk, food and beverage manager for Taj Cape Town.

The Twankey Bar is on the corner of Adderley Street and Wale Street, with proceedings kicking off at 6.30pm. The cost is R250 per person, which includes dinner, all beers, wine and secure parking at Mandela Rhodes Place.
