Featured on this year's Nederburg Auction on September 11 and 12, the wine makes its second appearance on the Muscat du Monde Top Ten list. The last time it was on this list was in 2011. It also earned 96 points and took the trophy for the 'best unfortified dessert wine' at the 2011 Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show.
The wine is made entirely from Muscat d'Frontignan grapes grown in Paarl and harvested in May, between 35° and 40° Balling. On the nose and palate, it expresses appealing Muscat notes of dried apricots, flowers, raisins and fruit cake, offset by a vibrant acidity.
For details of the selection of Nederburg's choicest dessert, red and white wines that will come under Antony Barnes' hammer at the Nederburg Auction.
