With cricket fever gripping the country for the DFL Indian Premier League, winemaker Bruwer Raats had the opportunity to become part of the action when his wines were on show during the opening function at the One & Only Cape Town hotel this weekend. Raats had the chance to rub shoulders with team principals, managers and players such as Glenn McGrath, Brett Lee and top run scorer Brendon McCullum while they tasted his wines.

Raats Family Wines were definitely in illustrious company as only five producers were selected for the exclusive tasting. Other estates included Meerlust, Springfield, Thelema and Buitenverwachting. "It was definitely an honour to be included with such premium names during such an exciting event. Since I am a keen cricket supporter, it was an incredible opportunity to have these cricket greats tasting and commenting on my wines," mentions Raats.

The One & Only is currently the only hotel in South Africa that has listed a vertical flight of the Raats Chenin Blanc spanning six vintages as well as the MR de Compostella. The hotel's impressive wine cellar contains over 5000 bottles from all over the world.
