World record orphan tug of war offers branding opportunities
Suffer The Children is presenting one of the biggest tug of war events, when 1500 orphan children will compete to create awareness of the plight of children in South Africa.
It takes place on Saturday 6 July 2013 at Marks Park Sports Grounds at Emmarentia, Johannesburg.
Companies are invited to come in their corporate branding and grab hold of the rope in a team-building drive to also show their support for children in the secondary tug of war.
The event is to raise funds for a production the NPO wishes to take to schools, to warn children against drugs and families against divorce. The rate at which orphan children are increasing in South Africa is high with tremendous negative impact on future societies.
There are currently 2 million orphaned children in SA.
A full day programme is planned with live entertainment on stage all day, a sky diving show by the Johannesburg Sky Diving Club, entertainment for children as well as a play park for the kids.
There will be a draw with a boat cruise to the Portuguese islands and Maputo as first prize and a jacuzzi as second prize. Tickets will be available at the event. Entry is free.
