6th annual Making CSI Matter Conference: 28 and 29 May

For the past five years, Trialogue has hosted its annual Making CSI Matter conference. Trialogue is delighted to announce that they will be hosting the sixth conference on Tuesday, 28 May 2013, and Wednesday, 29 May 2013, at The Wanderers Club, Illovo, Johannesburg.

The Making CSI Matter conference has become a priority event in the diaries of corporate social investment professionals, NPO and government development practitioners. For the past three years the conference has run at capacity, with over 300 delegates.

The conference will be MCed by well-known poet, performer, presenter and producer Lebo Mashile. Nearly forty speakers are expected to take stage sharing their views and expert advice on five developmental streams. There will be breakaway sessions on school-based solutions, with a focus on ICT in classrooms and collaboration in education; project metrics, looking at both internal and external monitoring and evaluation; and holistic community development, where the role of community trusts will be discussed. With a rate of 48.2% (according to rankings by Indexmundi website) unemployed youth in South Africa, the topic of youth development is one that cannot be simply ignored. The final topic that will be explored will be supporting enterprises, which will consider incubation and social enterprise.

Key note speakers who will grace the event include Director of Inyathelo Shelagh Gastrow; AngloGold Ashanti's' Executive Vice President David Noko who will discuss mining and social responsibility post Marikana; and Hlumelo Biko, author of The Great African Society. Speakers in the breakaways include co-founder and CEO of TSiBA education, Adri Marais; Jane Hofmeyr of ISASA; Marlon Parker, Head of MXit Reach, Craig MacGillivray, CEO of wine estate Solms-Delta in Franschhoek, and many more influential experts in the development arena.
