67-minute pledge wall at Cresta

Cresta events manager Phiwo Madubela says, "Madiba's legacy inspires people from all walks of life and because of this we would like to create a '67 Minute Pledge Wall', so our customers can be part of the birthday celebrations and make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate."

The pledge wall will be located in the Woolworths Court between 12-1.07pm. After donating R10 to charity, shoppers can draw an outline of their hand on the wall and write a personal birthday message for Madiba. The birthday messages will be passed on to the Nelson Mandela Fund.

"Although not everyone is able to offer a full 67 minutes to charity on Mandela's birthday, many can donate a few minutes of their time along with R10, and in so doing become part of our Madiba Pledge Wall," concludes Madubela.
