Tour company gets international clients to assist in CSI
A donation here and an offering there is certainly charitable, but it's not Corporate Social Investment (CSI). To really make a difference, you need to be focused and committed and to sustain the effort over time. Felix Unite Tours & Incentives is a company that is acutely aware of this and has chosen a multi-dimensional approach to its CSI programme.
As one of Southern Africa's leading destination management and specialist incoming tour operators, Felix Unite has a client base that reads like the Who's Who of international blue-chip companies. With the confidence born of the sure knowledge that its clients will leave happy, the company is unafraid to approach these global giants and ask that they partner in its CSI initiatives. As a result, many an international launch or incentive trip, produced under the auspices of Felix Unite, has featured innovative welcome or farewell gifts that were handmade by disabled or disadvantaged persons from needy communities.
Besides this commitment to supporting deserving self-sustenance projects through the purchase of their products, the company frequently requests sponsorships of its clients for projects with which it has allied itself on an ongoing basis. These sponsorships are invariably for basic, but necessary things.
Via this multi-pronged approach of supporting community projects through the purchase of their products and by prevailing upon its clients to assist it in lending continued assistance to a handful of selected, deserving projects, Felix Unite has been able to turn charity into CSI, making a difference in a manner that is at once meaningful and sustainable.
A recent example of one such partnership orchestrated by Felix Unite, was the one between itself, international client, BMW Motorcycles and local parties, events and experiences company Loudfire.
This initiative saw the donation by BMW, of an undisclosed amount of money to the Sisiphiwo Creche in Site C, Khayelitsha, Macassar for the upliftment and development of the crèche. The crèche is one of the projects that Felix Unite keeps a close eye on and contributes to whenever it can. The grateful crèche gave thanks to BMW and Felix Unite at a lunch, sponsored by parties, events and experiences company Loudfire. The children all joined in a boisterous chorus of several well-drilled and mimed songs, before presenting their benefactors with gifts of enthusiastically hand-painted ostrich eggs.
