Successful environmental publication continues after COP17 to Rio +20
It will offer local companies and organisations the opportunity to showcase themselves at the Rio +20 Earth Summit 2012 to be held in Brazil in June 2012.
It provides a platform to highlight local sustainability projects to decision-makers, which could potentially bring investment and funding opportunities to South African initiatives. The magazine will be published in three languages for the event, which aims to accelerate international efforts to progress towards achieving global sustainable development.
"Environment and social governance"
"We think that South African innovation in sustainability and environmental and social governance is on a par with, and even sometimes ahead of, the curve," says Sarah Bullen, group editor at Topco Media. "At its core we are providing a marketplace for innovative solutions to meet with investors and leaders.
"Environment and social governance is such a rapidly-developing and innovative field. We have seen many cutting-edge solutions presented in our country, such as the City of Johannesburg moving to become a smart city with its draft Growth and Development Strategy (GDS 2040), the hydrogen bike developed by the Department of Science and Technology, a water-from-air plant developed by DEW," Bullen continues.
