Motoring hat-trick for Media24 with launch of topBike
Automotive publishing is fast becoming second nature to Media24, when later this month it will venture into the world of motorcycling with the introduction of its next title, topBike. Recently acquired from Kemsley and Schoeman, topBike is Media24's third launch in the motoring arena in the space of three months, which kicked off in July 2006 with Max Power, followed by topCar and topMotor in August.
Publisher, John Relihan says: "Media24 magazines is always up for a new challenge. Our intention with topBike is to enhance its existing winning formula by delivering a cutting edge product designed to give biking enthusiasts an adrenalin rush from cover to cover."
"With topBike having already established itself as the leading motorcycling publication in terms of editorial content and photography, our new link to British Bike magazine, will further entrench this market position, as we strive to bring our readers the very best in motorcycling entertainment."
The editor's seat will continue to be occupied by Ian Els, who has been retained by Media24 for his valuable insight and expert contribution that he has brought to the magazine in the past.
Editorial direction will be headed by Pierre Steyn, who is no stranger to motoring, being the current editor of topCar and topMotor.
Says Els: "Motorcyclists are in for a rare treat when they page through the first and every successive edition, because topBike will feature no less than 180 pages of the latest and best presented biking information available."
"The launch issue features an unrivalled mix of the hottest overseas articles and the very best local travel features and test rides. topBike is a South African magazine and sets out to entertain and inform local enthusiasts. Another feature is the new bike database in our Really Useful section, which will include all the latest facts and figures on bikes and quads."
The magazine will be available on shelves countrywide from 27 September 2006.
