Successful SAITEX prepares for 2014
The 2013 Southern African International Trade Exhibition (SAITEX) held at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand in early July was successful. It had a record number of 980 exhibitors from 50 countries showcasing products in over 3500 categories, with more than 16 800 business visitors from all over the world including Brazil, Germany, Ghana, Hong Kong, Turkey, Ukraine and the US.
"Much has been said about people having to tighten their belts for the tough times ahead," says show organiser John Thomson of Exhibition Management Services. "But the show proves there is still plenty of business activity and opportunities for growth out there; entrepreneurs starting new ventures, business people finding new customers and markets for their products and services."
First time and regular exhibitors spoke of the leads generated and the extent of the interest from South Africa and the rest of the continent.
