More speakers added to Retail Technology Forum 2012

Norman Annette, Smart Axess Solutions' EUC transformation consultant will join forces with Shoprite's head of IT R&D, Glenn Rabie to reveal how the South African group enabled a 'Bring your Own Device' project to support tablet, Mac and Smartphone.

During 2011, the IT team noted an increasing prevalence of tablets, Mac laptops and Smartphones to perform work tasks. Historically, its IT environment was optimised to Windows devices and they now needed a platform to enable delivery of Windows based applications to any mobile device, at any location. The two speakers will show how the companies worked together on a solution that enables over 100 executives to work securely anywhere, on any device.

Bringing an international slant, Sat Vijayaraghavan, retail practice head at Thoughtworks will team up with Marco Bon, IT Director for Italian retailer, Gruppo PAM to explore ways in which a top retailer, with over 300 stores, was given the tools to understand changing customer needs and competitive threats, gain better control over revenues and margins and create sustained competitive advantage.
