Montgomery Africa will produce its first South African facilities management expo, Facilities Show Africa 2011 at Gallagher Convention Centre from 6-8 September 2011. It will run alongside one of Africa's biggest and most prestigious security events, IFSEC South Africa 2011 and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Expo Africa.
"For local and international suppliers of products and services, the show will provide a direct link to senior decision-makers and buyers," says Ross Cullingworth, commercial events director. "At the same time, visitors will gain access to the latest products and services available globally and locally, while learning from leading experts and networking with industry peers."
The team behind these events, UBM Montgomery (a joint venture between Montgomery Worldwide and UBM Live) is also responsible for the annual UK Facilities show held at the NEC in Birmingham, along with the international IFSEC and OSH show, which have gained a reputation worldwide as the leading shows in their respective sectors. Through its South African subsidiary, Montgomery Africa, the group is ideally positioned to launch a successful event in the South African FM sector.
"It's the perfect time to launch the show in South Africa. Research has shown that the local FM sector is a rapidly developing industry with a growing emphasis on finding the most efficient and cost-effective solutions to create resourceful and sustainable organisations. Furthermore we believe that the acceleration of public-private partnerships in South Africa, that require effective FM, will create even further opportunities for proficient FM service and product suppliers," adds Cullingworth.
The IFSEC show 2011 co-located with The Facilities Show, will also encompass a homeland security element, attracting government delegates ready to source the latest products the industry has to offer. The Facilities Show will provide yet another attraction for these visitors, along with the OSH Expo, which is critical in a country where organisations are becoming increasingly focussed on health and safety legislation.
