Producers need vintages to shine for Nederburg Auction
They also need to note that wines that have been sold on previous Nederburg Auctions may generally not be submitted immediately again, unless a case or two were specifically kept back to further mature, with the intention to re-submit five or 10 years down the line.
Record prices achieved at last year's auction bodes well for this year's event, and will no doubt see rarity handsomely rewarded again, says Auction manager Dalene Steyn in her call for entries.
"We're calling on producers to submit their rarest and most exceptional wines for consideration, as premium local wines will always experience strong demand at the event.
"We've campaigned over the last four years to encourage producers to submit their very best items, those that they would keep for special celebrations for example, and this is now reaping rewards, judging from the high prices achieved over the past few years.
"This year's Auction gives us an opportunity to build on the success of 2014, a breakthrough year for local fine wines. We invite producers in joining us in this mission," she concluded
