Amalgamation of AGB Nielsen, IMS

With the departure this month of IMS MD, Chris Brewer, AGB Nielsen management has announced that the Nielsen-affiliated IMS, a media planning and analysis software provider, will be brought under its banner. Both companies will now be managed out of one central office in Johannesburg, pooling the TAMS-analysing power of Arianna with IMS's software for AMPS, RAMS, print and media fusion.

"This move adds significantly to our basket of services, allowing us to offer the industry software to analyse and plan on the full spectrum of SAARF's audience media research products," says Chris Eyre, MD of AGB Nielsen and the now-incorporated IMS. He says the amalgamation of the two companies will also improve service levels, as clients will now have just one team servicing all their media planning and analysis needs.
