The adidas concept store displays both the Sports Performance and the adidas Originals product range, reinforcing the message contained in the 'all in' global brand campaign that was globally launched earlier this year.

"This opening of this store is in line with our growth in the South African market where we will open another two. Our objective is to always create an authentic environment where the consumer experience is enhanced by the look, feel and the sophisticated product offering," says Zobuzwe Ngobese, PR manager of adidas South Africa.

The 210-m2 store features the latest product offering including men's, women's and kids footwear, apparel and accessories. The other stores to be opened before the end of the year are located in Port Elizabeth's The Bridge Mall and in Johannesburg's West Rand.

Gifts from Manas

South African television personality, Leanne Manas, launched her retail debut at Sandton City's new Protea Court. The store, specialising in gifting, is a partnership between Manas and her sister in law, well-known retailer Mandy Manas, who has Koko Bino kids' boutique. Simply Manas is a concept store that marries gifting with the art of presentation.

"The store is the fulfilment of a life-long dream," says Manas. "Gifting is one of the most personal aspects of retail, and in the current economic climate, affordability plays a significant role too." She says there is something for everybody. There are items on offer from just under R100 up to R3000, carefully selected to make an impact on the recipient.

The store has dedicated a portion to gift-wrapping, as Manas believes that a large part of giving lies in presentation. "There is nothing more appealing than receiving a beautifully wrapped gift. We have created a candy store-like counter where our customers can choose from a range of wraps, beads, ribbons and other adornments at no additional cost, just to make everything special."

The store stocks gift brands available globally and South African brands, including Ritzenhoff, Dunbar-Sloane of London, Sagaform, Cath Kidstone, Jamie Oliver, Lou Harvey, Andy C, Cara Mia and Melissa and Dougs.

"We are excited to introduce Pip Studio to South Africa, as the first store in the country to hold the range. We have also launched our own label on products such as cheese boards, coffee mugs and pestle and mortars among others."

When she is not on duty as a media personality, she will be in attendance at the store.
