"The Student Award is an exciting and important initiative for the awards," says Bridget von Holdt, convenor of the awards. "It is an opportunity for up-and-coming public relations practitioners to benchmark themselves against their peers and to see what they will be up against when they enter the highly-competitive job market."

"Encourage professionalism"

Highlighting the importance of the Student Award, she says, "This is part of the awards strategy to encourage professionalism and promote learning opportunities in public relations." A panel of local and international experts will judge entries across the public relations and communication spectrum. "The feedback from the judges will give students valuable guidelines on how they can develop and build on their strengths."

This year's awards ceremony takes place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel Johannesburg in Rosebank on Sunday 25 March 2012 from 4-8pm.

Sponsors and partners for the Prism Awards include Bizcommunity, Hyatt Regency Hotel Johannesburg, Gautrain, Internet Corporate Exposure, Marketing Services & Communication, Mobilitrix, Pear Factor, Unique Photography and Unique AV.
