The awards comprise 27 categories grouped into three divisions: Communication Management, Communication Skills and Communication Creative and five Student categories. Entries close on 3 February 2010.
The programme aims to cross communication disciplines and reviews entries from professional communicators ranging from strategists to tacticians. Information about the winners will be shared in its magazine "Communication World,” at its international conference, and on the IABC website. Their work will also be considered for publication in its resource materials. Each year, the competition attracts entries from IABC members and non-members in over 25 countries.
To assist South Africans with their entries, the IABC Africa Region is hosting a workshop presented by multi-Quill winner and African Quill coordinator, Mari Lee on 3 December 2009 from 9.30am-11.30am at Foxwood House, 13 Fifth Street, Houghton, Johannesburg. The workshop is open to members and non-members of IABC at a cost of R120 for members and R200 for non-members.
Participants need to bring the material of their campaign/work for discussion and will work through the 'call for entry,' get tips on choosing a category and access to previous winning entries.
Email Tertia Dafel no later than 28 November 2009 to secure a booking. For more on the awards go to www.iabc.com/awards/pdfs/Gold_Quill_Final_220909.pdf.
