Brian Berkman launches PR-Net in Gauteng with new Elle editor

PR-Net, the peer network for communications professionals, launched in Cape Town in March this year, is expanding to Gauteng. According to Brian Berkman, publicity consultant and PR-Net founder, many calls have come from Gauteng publicists supporting the launch. The purpose is to network with communications professionals who meet around best practice, media contacts and industry chinwags.

Jacqueline Myburgh, former editor of Style and now editor of Elle Magazine, will be PR-Net's first guest speaker on Wednesday, July 28 from 5pm. Myburgh will share her vision for Elle and highlight editorial opportunities for publicists.
The venue for the meeting is top 5FM DJ, Nicole Fox's new club venture, Shoukara, in the Rivonia Junction Centre.

There is no charge for membership which is open to all professional communicators and a nominal fee is charged to attend events. Once contact details have been entered through Berkman's website www.BrianBerkman.com, email alerts of meetings will be sent out.

"My vision for PR-Net is to build a strong platform where contacts and skills can be shared, especially with people who are just entering our industry. We all suffer when people mess up and the industry gets tarnished with the "incompetent" brush, I hope those of us who have something to share will do so," he says.
